RivetRate product questions and answers

Who is RivetRate for?

RivetRate is for plumbing and electrical businesses that prepare itemized quotes. Start with your business pricing profile, add job details and line items to a draft, then review the quote before sharing it with a customer.

What pricing rules can I save?

In Pricing Setup, save the pricing rules your business uses: standard, after-hours, and apprentice labour rates; call-out and minimum charges; materials and subcontractor markups; a tax label and rate; business terms; and quote numbering. Use values that match your own business.

Can I start a quote draft with typed job details?

Yes. Enter the job details to create a saved draft, then add the work, materials, or subcontractor line items and the pricing inputs for the job. Job notes describe the scope; they do not become priced quote lines by themselves.

Can I use a voice note for a quote?

Yes. Record a job note in the draft and RivetRate transcribes it into editable job details. Review and correct the transcript before saving it. A transcript does not add quote items or set prices.

Can I use photos to add job details?

You can attach a photo to a quote draft and ask RivetRate to extract job details. The extracted notes are unconfirmed, so review and edit them in the draft before sending. Photos do not set prices or quote totals.

How does RivetRate handle missing prices or details?

A draft uses the pricing profile and line items you provide. If a needed price or pricing input is missing, RivetRate flags it for confirmation instead of filling it with a guessed amount. Check the job scope, line items, and pricing before marking the quote reviewed.

Can I review a quote before I share it?

Yes. The current draft must be marked reviewed before it can be published. Publishing saves the reviewed quote as a read-only customer link and a PDF; unresolved items remain marked. You can copy the customer link to share it through your preferred channel.

Does publishing a quote collect payment?

No. Publishing creates a customer link and PDF, and customer acknowledgment does not start checkout or collect payment.

Can I subscribe to RivetRate through checkout right now?

No. Subscription checkout is currently unavailable while cancellation terms are being confirmed. Prices shown on the pricing page do not mean a purchase can be completed through the site today.
